Schönbach

The Mueller family founded the company in the late 1920s as a component manufacturer for brass instruments.

Schoenbach in Cheb was one of the most important production centers for string and blowing instruments at that time. After the 2nd World War the region got part of Czechoslovakia.

Müller`s were banished and found near Nuremberg a new home and opened a grocery store. In the garage next door Mr. Mueller had already resumed the production again...

Firma Müller in Erlangen

In the postwar period, the company grew to become a major supplier of German guitar makers Hoefner and Framus.

The Müller family expanded the production facility in Erlangen several times to meet the growing demand.

But four decades of Rock'n'Roll changed the market for electric guitars and parts drastically.

The United States has become the Mecca of design and manufacture and Asia countered with Japan, Korea and Indonesia. Hoefner, as fomrer important customer shifted the production to China, the land of today's mass production. Framus did not survive the bankruptcy to the end of the 1970s.

Horst Müller's son Klaus took over the company in the course of the 1980s, with a focus to power the scene of progressive guitar makers with high quality components. The rock music got faster, more distorted and "detuning free", due to trendsetting fine tuner tremolo.

Klaus supplied retailers and his American distribution ALLPARTS with modern hardware. In parallel, he deepened the partnership with famous American guitar manufacturers. Here, Dr. Klaus Müller was appreciated by clients and colleagues for his very competent and direct manner.

ABM in Berlin

Unfortunately, Klaus died suddenly in July 2007.

To find a worthy successor, Bernd Römer, guitarist of the band Karat, presented the contact for the widow Mueller with the "Jowo-Berliner-Schreibfeder-GmbH".

This company manufactures high quality fountain pen nibs and masters the precision metal processing for over 100 years.

Father and son Hildebrand, toolmakers and enginneers, took over the ABM to early 2008. The production and marketing is supported by professionals.

In the year 2017, the "ABM High Quality Germany Guitar Parts GmbH"  was merged with the parent company "JOWO-Berler-Schreibfeder GmbH" and operates as the division "ABM Guitar Parts". Joachim Hildebrand died in 2019. His son Jan is successfully leading the company “Jowo-Berliner-Schreibfeder-GmbH” into the future.

The devision ABM Guitar Parts works with a product-management, which addresses international standards in cooperation with industry professionals and development creates trend-setting products. A slim hierarchy with short lines of information, steady self-optimizing production processes and a high degree of transparency of internal goods flows, are key elements of our success.

We are already proud to supply world-famous market leaders and many prominent guitar companies too. At the same time we offer for each customer an access to the broad standard range and to the custom-shop. Whether it is for the discerning guitar maker, the service station, the music store and of course the musician. All ABM products are designed and manufactured here in Berlin and marketed worldwide.

In 2024 we will launch a series of You Tube product videos that will bring the good news even closer to our customers worldwide.

The year also marks a milestone: ABM turns 75 years old!
